Possibly the most important thing in your bedroom HAS to be the bed. And for 2020 it’s time to make yours the ultimate focal point! Think upholstered bed frames in the most sumptuous of materials such as velvet and in the sleekest of shapes and styles: scalloped, winged, studded – you name it, your bed is going to be beauts! Up the ante by making the upholstery pop in an eye-catching colour such as navy, teal, grey, blush pink or mustard.

Or why not make your bed frame as bold as brass, literally, by getting it made in your favourite metallic. Copper, gold, chrome – all make the perfect material for a bit of bed bling!

Geometric and Abstract:
It’s hip to be square…or any other shape with your bedroom interior in 2020. Whether you are creating pattern with paint yourself or nabbing a wallpaper that does the job for you, make the trend suit you by mixing up bright colours or try various tones of the same colour, like grey. Whichever way you choose to play this trend – you are going to make an impact.

If full on geometric is not your bag, you can add elements of the look to your bedroom, through designs on cushions, rugs, bedding or wall art to instantly refresh the space. Why not try different geometrically shaped shelving units for the ultimate nod to the trend?

Bold Wallpaper:
Tropic, tribal or floral – these are the hottest wallpaper designs to cover your interior in for 2020. There’s no easier way to refresh a space than by adding wallpaper. So use it to make a focal point by putting it in the alcoves of your bedroom or on one wall – why not behind your new statement bed? You could choose your wallpaper colour to contrast completely against your bed colour, choose a paper which which picks out its shade in its design or make the design monochromatic.

Art Deco and Retro Glamour:
Seeing as we are entering the new “roaring 20s”, it only seems right to welcome the key styles of the decade back to the bedroom also! Be it through opulent fabrics such as velvet, satin and faux fur, subtle curves and achingly elegant lines, this trend is both timeless and retro, making it have an effortless coolness. Embrace the era through gorgeous jewel tones like dark blue, teal green, mustard yellow and blush pink, mixed in with cut glass and metallic touches on lights and furniture and you have this interior trend nailed, old bean!

Scroll through your interior inspo on Pinterest or follow your favourite home account on Instagram and you’ll be sure to have seen that paneling is huge for 2020. It makes a space feel grand and who wouldn’t want to make their bedroom fit for royalty? Whether you opt for a full feature wall, half wall all the way round the room or the odd panel to frame around wall lights or artwork, you’ll be totally #trending!
