I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling all kinds of blue. Yup, after the initial New Year buzz has died down to a whimper, your “Dry January” has gotten decidedly wet and you have broken “Veganuary” by secretly chomping on every beast known to man – the only thing to do is think about your getaway! It’s the perfect time to be the mastermind of your own great escape. So come away with me and find out where is on my travel bucket list in 2018…

Let me just say first off – this has been possibly one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write, in as much as to narrow down my choices! The  older I get, the longer the list gets. The more I travel, the more I want to go on the next adventure. Travel feeds my soul in ways that I cannot easily describe and planning adventures is one of my favourite past-times, constantly adding to my bucket list. It’s unsurprising therefore that my bucket list is in fact HUGE, but you always have to have favourites amongst the many, right? So here are my top four destinations!

Thailand:
Thailand isn’t known as the “Land of Smiles” for nothing – heck, I’m smiling as I type just THINKING about going! I am constantly escaping to far flung shores in my mind, so I am drawn by the siren cry of Thailand. With its plethora of beaches, amazing food, rich culture, beautiful Buddhist temples and the lure of those infamous full moon parties – it has to be on my bucket list right?! Whilst researching my potential getaways for this bucket list, I noticed that Destination2 have some stellar Thailand deals. Whether you want to head to Koh Samui or Phuket OR mix it up with a multi-centre tour, now is the time to nab a bargain!

Greece:
Awwwww – just drink in that view! One look at this photo and you know instantly where in the world you are. Santorini – you are unmistakable with your whiter than white buildings topped with roofs as blue as the sea! A good Instagram scroll and it seems that any influencer worth their Vans has made it their mission to flock to Greece and be snapped wistfully wandering its winding streets. And yes, I want to doing exactly that! The place is choc-full of history, mythology and yes, it’s the home of Mezze and Ouzo, so ya know you are going to have a fab time. And you may just meet your Greek god or goddess…

Maldives:
No destination says to me “this is all about that luxury and relaxation life, giiiirl” than the Maldives. With water so clear you can see to the bottom, I want to live out my Ariel goals – swimming and snorkelling with my new fish friends! The fact that you can stay in these insane ocean huts directly over the water blows my mind and it is somewhere I have always lusted over. If you do decide to make it to dry land, the Maldives is home to possibly the best beaches in the whole world – so yes, it’s definitely on my travel bucket list…permanently!

Hong Kong:
A place of contrasts, Hong Kong fascinates me and calls to my adventurous soul! It’s an anomaly – high tech sits alongside traditional, where its historical roots hold hands with its 21st century self wholeheartedly. High on my list of to do’s would of course be to visit the temples before heading to the night markets for what is going to undoubtedly be the best food I have ever eaten, before going on the Star Ferry to watch the neon-fuelled skyline drift by *sigh*
