When we think of winter, what do we think of? Cosy nights in, Christmas nights out, snuggly layers and, of course, the white stuff – SNOW!!! Now what about WEARING white in winter? Many of us recoil in horror and hiss like Dracula being offered a two week holiday to the Bahamas!!! Not on your style NELLY, we hear you say! But fear not FDJ fillies, we think it’s time to tear up the fashion rulebook and have a rethink! So don’t bid a fond adieu to your summer LWD JUSTyet. With a little bit of clever styling we can extend its wearability into winter…well, at least for a little while longer…

Look! Look at this Caged Midi dress from the fab Dolled Up Clothing – truly an LWD of wonder! I’ve been styling this little angel of a summer stunner for sizzling nights out uber simply with great heels and perhaps a cute belt – fashion fresh! The thought of not getting to wear it again till SS16 pained me. So I have declared a war on winter coming like a stylish Jon Snow. Yes, Winter IScoming, but this dress is coming too! So here are my tips, fellow LWD warriors – by mixing in key pieces you can do the same with yours too. As the days get chillier, we can still look white hot!

VINTAGE VIXEN: For a chic, on trend yet classic cover-up, sling on a kimono. The perfect cover-up from cab to club, you can arrive in style minus the goosebumps. Plus a pop of print and colour against pure white is show-stopping. Hello snow queen!

DENIM DO’S: Throw on a forever faithful denim shirt like my fave River Island number and tan accessories including these darling Deichmann clogs for a daytime nod to the 70s. This is casual but also as crisp as autumn leaves.

MONOCHROME MASH-UP: Take your fashion piece of the moment into winter – the long-line waistcoat is STILL going to be your go-to! I was inspired to create a great desk-to-dance floor outfit – as we all know that t’is the season to have spontaneous office outings…and you might not get the opportunity to pop home and change?! So be perma-ready with a bold black and white combo. Long-line waistcoat + statement vintage belt + fierce heels = ready to rumba. Slip on thick black tights as the temperature drops…F.A.B!

OFFICE STAR: Superhero it up and spin that dress into a skirt by doubling over a drapey blouse like this top Topshop number and you double the use of your dress. By magic, you have a perfect pencil skirt look! Again, why not wear black tights to add months to this outfit’s longevity?

Now, marvellous mavens, I am by no means saying you can rock these looks into a snow drift..no no NO! But I hope that I have given you a bit of inspo to extend the life of your LWD through the next few months. Go forth, layer it up and I will see you on the mean winter streets looking like a snow angel and totally #FashionDuJourable!
