#BloggersFestival

Saturday. Ahhh Saturday. Saturday was a BIG day at Fashion Du Jour LDN! Not only did our site go live (Thanks for all the internet love, fashion fillies), but we also attended our first event as bloggers. Step this way and join us on our adventure, won’t you?

Bloggers Festival is what can only be described as an UBER event! We have attended blogger events before, be it while repping brands, modelling etc, but, seriously…this one surpassed most due to its triple threat of location, organisation and sheer lushness on all fronts. Organised by the simply stunning Scarlett Dixon of www.scarlettlondon.com, this was the perfect event for everyone from the newbie blogger to the seasoned Insta star.

We arrived at the Conrad St. James Hotel and were greeted by an atmosphere of sublime splendour as we descended the sweeping staircase. We were greeted by smiles and a jam-packed event guide, choc-full of the brands awaiting to be discovered.

Fruity cocktails and cheeky canapés in hand, we headed into the main event and…HELLO SENSORY OVERLOAD!!! The space was an abundance of awesome. We loved how each brand had used its space to reflect its image. From the cute fairy-lit garden of Jewellery Box‘s wonderland, where trinkets nestled waiting to be discovered, to the Hollywood red carpet glam of the Nanshy Official makeover suite, by way of The Perfume Shop‘s super kitsch Barbie’s Dream House, over to the colourful and F.A.B.ulous assortment of lotions and potions and selfies (oh my!) at Brodie and Stone, we pinballed from one stand to the next, collecting photos, a lovely natter and goodies galore!

We loved not only how each stand stood out as distinctly ‘them’, but we also adored the way each brand stamped its own twist on engaging with us bloggers. At the Bonprix UK stall, we were challenged to style up an outfit from its fab AW15 range and of course we had to make it #FashionDuJourable! We thought we would layer up an assortment of colour and texture including that maven must-have, the fur coat and – TA DA!!! What do you think fellow fashionistas? You can check out all the other fierce entries by looking on the #BonPrixFavourite hashtag in Insta and Twitter.

At BrowHaus, bloggers relaxed whilst having their brows made Cara Delevigne-worthy and told about all the sassy services on offer at its salon whilst across the way at Cloud Nine locks were lavished with the best of the best hair styling tools. Meanwhile, over at The Body Art Professional area, us fillies were adorned with festival favourite metallic jewellery tattoos and body art before heading over to the ever lovely Amanda at Bravura where we were given fantastic and really useful skincare advice, and got to compete in a VERY lucky dip!

We also loved hearing about exciting and innovative new services, products and brands from the likes of Filo, an exciting and smart way for you to share recommendations and make money, and Yoogaia, an interactive yoga and pilates site, which allows you to enjoy a live class in the comfort of your own home!

One brand that got our fashion pulse racing was that of Minimum Clothing, a Danish line that we are glad is storming the UK like an on trend (and somewhat less violent) Viking invasion! The pieces are clean, contemporary and the AW15 collection is highly interchangeable to help you create a stellar capsule wardrobe. We TOTES hearted this blanket jacket combo for a smart day to evening look or, as you can see, it looked just as good thrown over Topshop ripped jeans and a Dom & Ink designed Rock on Ruby tee. Sassy!

The event was a whirlwind of highlights and the buzz of excitement was infectious, as were the smiles! Something magical happens when people who are passionate about their brands (whether they’re as established as Bare Minerals Cosmetics or hot and fresh like scarf designer Taisir Gibreel) and the bloggers who love to discover them get together and we were swept up in the vibe.

As we walked away with our spirits light and our bags heavy, we looked at each other and smiled…this blogging malarkey is pretty darn cool, isn’t it?

Many MANY thanks to Scarlett for hosting such a wonderful event – we recommend anyone to get yourself on the guestlist for the next one STAT!

Love Nicky and Leigh at Fashion Du Jour LDN HQ x
